Prevent Blindness Honors Mark Peacock and Encova Insurance
with 2023 Central Ohio People of Vision Award
April 3, 2023 (Columbus, OH) The Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness was proud to honor Mark Peacock and Encova Insurance as the recipient of the 2023 Central Ohio People of Vision Award at a dinner event at Heritage Golf Club in Hilliard.
Since 1985, The Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness (PBO) has recognized and awarded select organizations and their leaders for visionary leadership and community service. The People of Vision Award event has become one of Central Ohio’s premier charitable events in support of PBO and its mission to prevent blindness and preserve sight.
As last year’s honoree, Kristin Bernert and Columbus Crew chaired the event and presented the 2023 award to Mark Peacock, SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Encova. Bernert asked that guests join in celebrating Peacock and Encova for their commitment to the Central Ohio community. Peacock proudly represented Encova and its team of associates who take pride in being involved in the communities where Encova operates.
“A long-time supporter of the mission of the Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness, Encova aspires to be an outstanding corporate citizen in all locations and markets they serve, and they demonstrate their corporate caring initiative through participation in a wide variety of community activities that focus on improving communities and families, promoting education and encouraging wellness,” said Bernert.
“On behalf of our 1,200 associates, thank you for adding Encova to the list of long-time community pillars as an honoree,” said Peacock upon accepting the award. “Through the Encova Foundation of Ohio and the Encova Foundation of West Virginia we support many causes that mirror our associates’ interests. Encova has supported the Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness for many years, and we support and actively engage with dozens of other nonprofits throughout our footprint.”
Half of all blindness is preventable, and the number of individuals who are blind or visually impaired is expected to double by the year 2030 if nothing is done to address the problem. Furthermore, it is estimated that the economic impact of visual disorders and disabilities costs approximately $6 billion annually in Ohio.
“Prevent Blindness, Ohio Affiliate is proud to honor Mark Peacock and Encova with the 2023 Central Ohio People of Vision Award,” Amy Pulles, President and CEO of the Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness stated, “and we look forward to them chairing the event next year.”
