Prevent Blindness Honors Oswald Companies,
David Jacobs with the 2021 People of Vision Award
February 25, 2021 (Cleveland, OH) Prevent Blindness, Ohio Affiliate, was proud to honor Oswald Companies and its President & COO, David Jacobs, with the People of Vision Award virtually, on February 24, 2021.
Since 1985, The Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness has recognized and awarded select organizations and their leaders for visionary leadership and community service. The People of Vision Award event has become one of Northeast Ohio’s premier charitable events in support of the Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness (PBO) and its mission to prevent blindness and preserve sight.
After receiving the 2020 People of Vision Award last year, Dan Neistadt and Electronic Merchant Systems (EMS) served as chair of this year’s event. Neistadt asked that we join him in honoring Oswald Companies and David Jacobs for their amazing philanthropic work in Northeast Ohio.
Jacobs serves as the President & COO of Oswald Companies. In addition to an extensive list of community involvement, Jacobs is past Chair of the Board of The MetroHealth Foundation and past President of Westfield Agents Association. He serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the Playhouse Square Foundation and is on the board of the American Red Cross, Northeast Ohio Region.
In presenting the award to Jacobs, Neistadt said, “Oswald Companies’ community involvement makes it a perfect example of a visionary company. They began their support of the programs and services Prevent Blindness provides in Northeast Ohio in 1999 with support for the Cole Vision “Visions of Success” Golf Tournament and have continued support of the People of Vision Award Event throughout the years.”
Oswald Companies and Dave Jacobs proudly accepted the honor with the following words:
“One of Oswald’s core values is commitment to community and we take full accountability for giving back to organizations like Prevent Blindness. We have been supporting them for some time.
I could have been one of those kids on that video when I was a young student. I was not performing well in school because I could not see. And I realized, with my parents’ help, that once I got an eye exam and needed glasses, I could thrive in school and athletics.
Many families are not that fortunate and I really appreciate everything that Prevent Blindness does to help folks who are underserved have the gift of sight.”
