Some people are dually eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid in Ohio if aged 65 and older, or under 65 and living with a qualifying disability AND meet the income criteria and resource limits for Medicaid.
People who have both Medicare and Medicaid have dual enrollment. Medicare will pay for a covered service first and then Medicaid will pay second to cover remaining fees or to pay for benefits not covered under the Medicare. With dual enrollment, Medicaid can pay for expenses like copays or deductibles.
