“When my family and I moved to the United States in 2003 we hoped for a better life in this country of paradise.  Little did we know then, we were victims of human trafficking with my parents forced to work 14-16 hours a day, with no wages.  By age 10, I depended on glasses to do all my work.  When the pair I had broke, my family was at a loss for what to do. Prevent Blindness Ohio stepped in and provided me with an eye exam and a new pair of glasses.  Since receiving my glasses I’ve had a completely different experience in life.  I have been chosen for many young scholar leadership awards and to attend the inauguration of the 44th United States President!  Not only does Prevent Blindness Ohio help people read, write, and see, but they empower us to follow our dreams and live them.”
